President and Director - Cliff Kondratiuk, PEng.
In joining Soft Immersion Lab's in November of 1997, Cliff Kondratiuk brings over 10 years of professional multimedia design experience to the company. After graduating with a B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1990, Cliff has focused his career on the design and implementation of enabling multimedia technologies.Cliff worked on the team that developed the first open architecture Digital Signal Processor (DSP) based music synthesizer chipset for the multimedia PC. This technology was purchased by Sierra Semiconductor Inc. of San Jose California.
While with Sierra Semiconductor, Cliff invented and implemented a music synthesis technique for which he was awarded a United States Patent in September of 1993. His specialized experience in designing enabling audio technologies for the multimedia PC led Cliff to publish a chapter entitled "The Technical Aspects of Multimedia Audio" in "The McGraw-Hill Multimedia Handbook - Jessica Keyes" in 1994.Upon leaving Sierra Semiconductor, Cliff joined Rainmaker Digital Pictures Group, Ltd. as a Senior Software Engineer and along with Paul Nikkel, was charged with the conceptual development, design and implementation of Rainmaker Digital Pictures LIVE technology.
Throughout his career, Cliff has continued to work as a consultant to both Canadian and American high technology companies working in the fields of multimedia technology development. This work includes the design and implementation of various DSP Audio Operating Systems, General MIDI Interpreters, Reverb, Chorusing and 3D-Positional Audio effects algorithms. In addition to the above, Cliff has also advised companies on interactive multimedia product development and new media technology analysis.
With a strong interest in the development of new, enhanced interactive multimedia technology, Cliff brings a professional history that provides experience in many of the companie's intellectual property areas.
